Good things about being at the bottom
Many people think that being at the bottom is a bad thing because when someone is at the bottom, they are not popular. They do not get recognized. But being at the bottom can also be beneficial for various reasons. This blog is going to make people who are at the bottom feel good.
1.You make real friends easily: When you are at the top, many people admire you just because of your status. Many people may be tempted to be your friend. This may sound good but in reality, it is actually not great. Because so many people admire you that it is so hard to find out who are your real friends. Some people may be your friend just because of your status. For example:
Sam was the topper of ninth grade. He got above 95% in every subject and many people admired him. The teachers appreciated him a lot. Many students looked up to him and befriended him. Sundar got low marks. So, he was not that popular. In tenth grade, the concepts became harder. Sam struggled to cope up with the syllabus. So, his grades plummeted. Because his grades plummeted, his "friends" started underestimating him and they abandoned him. Very few people were there for him now. Sam felt hurt because the people who once admired him started underestimating him. Sundar had a limited group of friends but was still happy because people befriended him not because of his status but because he was a kind, cheerful and humble. People actually understood Sundar. They were with him because he was a good person. Meanwhile people befriended Sam just because of his status. Nobody properly understood him. They were just impressed by his status. Sam actually struggled to find who are his real friends as many people flattered and admired him and were always nice to him.
2. No pressure: When you are at the bottom no one pressurize you to be at the top as being at the bottom is your status which makes life less stressful. For example:
Sam was at the top. His parents and teachers always pushed him to get perfect grades. Even though he felt encouraged, he felt stressed deep down as he was pushed. Meanwhile Sundar the one who had low grades was not pressurized by teachers much which made him relaxed.
3.Unlike toppers who get judged because they fail just once, you do not get judged: It is always noticed that when toppers fail just once they get criticized and judged by people around them. But people who are at the bottom do not face this problem. For example:
When Sam's grades plummeted, teachers and students gossiped. They thought he was becoming lazy and less serious. The teachers were very angry on him and were critical. But Sundar did not face this problem as everybody knew about his status. No one bothered to criticize him.
